Wireless Dissolved Oxygen Sensor 1114 is part of a modern Smart Wireless range designed for accurate, real-time environmental science investigations in the classroom. It enables students to measure oxygen levels in water quickly and reliably using advanced wireless data logging technology.
With a simple “smart button” system, the sensor can begin recording data instantly by pressing the button three times, allowing fast setup for practical experiments. It also supports real-time data streaming through EasySense2 software, enabling live results to be displayed and analysed. Long battery life ensures uninterrupted data collection during extended investigations.
The sensor uses a polarographic (Clark cell) electrode to measure dissolved oxygen levels in water. This electrode works in combination with an oxygen adaptor, where oxygen passes through a semi-permeable membrane into an electrolyte solution containing an anode and cathode. The resulting electrical signal is used to determine oxygen concentration.
To ensure accuracy, the system includes automatic temperature compensation using an integrated thermistor, correcting for changes in membrane permeability across a working range of 5°C to 45°C. This ensures reliable readings in a variety of environmental conditions.
